Photo Gallery Moved

My photo gallery has moved to Flickr. This is primarily because I have been uploading most of my photographic work to Flickr anyway, and it made little sense to continue maintaining two galleries.  Flickr is a great, easy-to-use, powerful photo storage site and manager, and I've gotten quite fond of it.

Site Rebuilt in Joomla!

One of the things I'm doing for my new employer is supervising a very large web site redesign project. The corporation's entire web presence is going to be nuked to scorched earth and rebuilt from scratch. In order to make the redesign worthwhile, we're going to use a content management system (CMS) so that the site will be maintainable.

I've written a lot of web sites, but almost all my work has been in HTML, HTML with CSS, Flash, and purpose-built CMS engines like Wordpress and Gallery. I used Joomla! for a very short while back when it was called Mambo, but I am by no means an expert.

I don't have to be, of course -- we're going to contract with a brilliant developer -- but it'll help if we all speak the same language. So, the rebuild of my home page has been a learning experience. Don't be surprised if you see several of my other sites also getting Joomla! makeovers.

If you notice things are broken, let me know. Otherwise, bear with me as I experiment.

More Changes!

The site was starting to look a little stale, and besides that, I needed to work with Joomla 1.7, which is the newest version of the content management system I use both here and at work. Naturally, my personal home page is the ideal place to do these risky and somewhat difficult tests before I'm required to implement this somewhere far more critical.

I've revamped the look of the site completely, but everything that was here before should still be here. If you find any problems with the site, please let me know via the contact form -- which DOES work.
